The DWT facility was
not designed to be open to the public, but there is now the rare
opportunity to see it from the inside. The purpose of these tours is to raise funds
for the project, as well as to provide a unique opportunity for neighbors and
friends to learn about this project and these magnificent creatures.
What you will see:
Walking tour of the Dewar Wildlife facility includes gorilla villas, habitat, veterinary
hospital, food preparation room, administration, and holding areas This is
also a special opportunity for a face-to-face meeting with Joe - the
world’s 3rd oldest male gorilla in a zoo setting (49 years old in March of
2012) - who loves visitors! Two young silverbacks from Zoo Atlanta came to
Dewar Wildlife in February of 2012 and you'll get to meet them too!
When:
2012: Most Tours are scheduled for
1:00 p.m. (duration 2 - 3 hours).
What to expect:
The tour will take place rain or

on graveled roads involved, so dress accordingly. Special arrangements can
be made for individuals who have difficulty walking.
Reservations will be on a first come first served
basis.
Your reservation will be confirmed upon receipt of donation.
If you cannot make your scheduled tour date, you may apply your donation to
a future tour, if available, or consider it a donation. If the DWT has to cancel
the tour for any reason, another date will be selected (donations will be
refunded to anyone who cannot make the rescheduled date).
Private Tours?

convenient date and time. Cost is from $495 for up to six people. We'll also make sure you leave with a fine photograph of your
